Four School of Nursing faculty members have received research funds totalling more than $4 million from the National Institute for Nursing Research.
* Jean Kincade, research associate professor in the Program on Aging, received $1.9 million to study the effect of biofeedback on the treatment of urinary incontinence among women in Wake County.
* Professor Margarete Sandelowski and Julie Barroso, assistant professor, will receive $1.3 million for a five-year project that will study ways of combining research findings from qualitative studies.
* Anne H. Skelly, assistant professor, was awarded more than $790,000 to fund a three-year study to determine how low-income African-American, Caucasian and Latino residents of Siler City obtain information on diabetes.
