The 10th year of Second Sunday Readings begins Sept. 9 with a special event. All 122 readers from the first 10 years of the series will be invited for special recognition of their contributions to contemporary North Carolina literature. In addition, Doris Betts will read from her new short fiction. This reading will take place at 2:30 p.m. at The Carolina Inn.
The rest of the schedule of Second Sunday Readings is also complete. All will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the Pleasants Family Assembly Room of Wilson Library. Those featured will be:
Oct. 14: Novelist David Payne and poet/ non-fiction writer David Brendan Hopes;
Nov. 11: Novelist Pamela Duncan and poet/translator John Balaban;
Jan. 13: Fiction writer Susan Dodd and poet Joseph Bathanti; and
April 14: Novelist Susan S. Kelly and columnist Barry Saunders.
