Botanical Garden to offer certificate programs

This fall, the N.C. Botanical Garden will initiate two certificate programs, one in Native Plant Studies and another in Botanical Illustration, offering participants the opportunity to become proficient in either of these two areas.

Students enrolled in Native Plant Studies will gain the skills and knowledge essential and useful in efforts to preserve and restore natural areas.

Botanical Illustration students will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to scientifically and artistically render botanical specimens.

Each program will have a core of classes that are necessary for certification, plus three elective classes. There will be no time limit for completion of courses leading to certification.
