Dell solicits grant proposals from campuses from which it recruits and hires
employees, said Sam Baber, campus manager for Dell.
"UNC faculty presented an extraordinary batch of proposals to us this year," he
said. "We have a strong relationship with the campus -- it's one of the best in
terms of recruiting -- and we want to maintain the relationship."
Faculty at six universities received grants this year, the second year of the
program. Last year, five Kenan-Flagler faculty received grants totaling
$77,000.
