Board of Trustees to move meeting to Raleigh due to bond bill ceremony
Thursday, May 25, 8:30 a.m.
Location in Raleigh to be determined
To update plans for this week’s University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Board of Trustees meeting (Release number 286, May 17), the meeting site has been changed to Raleigh at a location that has not been determined.
The change comes in response to a request from the Governor’s Office for university leaders to attend a public ceremony Thursday (May 25) at 10 a.m. on the Capitol grounds at which the higher education bond bill will be signed into law. Students, faculty, administrators, alumni and other supporters also are being encouraged to attend the ceremony.
UNC-CH trustees plan to begin their meeting as scheduled at 8:30 a.m., break for the 10 a.m. ceremony and then reconvene. The student affairs and academic affairs committees will not hear presentations. Remaining will be remarks from the trustee chair, interim chancellor and student body president, as well as reports from the nominating, development and finance and business committees. Following the ceremony, the board is expected to reconvene for any remaining business in open session, if any, before the previously scheduled closed session and adjournment.
The original agenda is posted at http://www.unc.edu/news/media/botmay00.htm. News Services will share logistics about the meeting site as soon as possible. Additional materials about the meeting are available from News Services.
