UNC chancellor to address public service as part of Friday Center celebration "Public Service or Lip Service? Outreach at a Major University"

William and Ida Friday Center for Continuing Education
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Chancellor James Moeser will address "Public Service or Lip Service? Outreach at a Major University" as a part of the William and Ida Friday Center for Continuing Educationís 10th anniversary celebration.
A panel discussion will follow, moderated by UNC Institute of Government director Mike Smith and featuring the following panelists:
Virginia Carson, director of the UNC Campus Y.
Dr. Linda Cronenwett, dean of the UNC School of Nursing.
Dr. James Johnson, director of the Urban Investment Strategies Center, Kenan-Flagler Business School, UNC.
Sen. Howard Lee, N.C. General Assembly.
A reception will precede the chancellorís speech and forum, at 6:30 p.m. All events are free to the public.
The William and Ida Friday Center for Continuing Education, located about three miles east of UNC just off N.C. 54 East, was the universityís first campus building solely dedicated to continuing education. The center is named in honor of William and Ida Friday, whose careers have been devoted to enhancing the lives of their fellow citizens through their work in education, the arts and public health.
