‘Taking Back the Constitution’ to feature national legal experts Nov. 8

"Taking Back the Constitution"

Thursday (Nov. 8), 7:30 p.m.

Walter Dellinger, former U.S. assistant attorney general and former acting solicitor general, will speak at "Taking Back the Constitution," a kickoff event for the American Constitution Society for Law and Policy’s University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University law chapters. Law students from throughout the state are expected to attend the event.

Dellinger, also a law professor at Duke, will be joined by the following other speakers:

· Lisa Brown: chief counsel to the Vice President of the United States from 1999 through 2001 and former chief counsel to Vice President Al Gore.

· Theresa Wynn Roseborough: former Office of Legal Counsel, U.S. Department of Justice; and partner at Sutherland Asbill & Brennan.

· Peter Rubin: founder of the American Constitution Society, former law clerk to Justice David Souter and law professor at Georgetown University.

The American Constitution Society for Law and Policy is a new national organization of law students, law professors, practicing lawyers and others seeking to revitalize and transform the legal debate, from law school classrooms to federal courtrooms.
