Editors: News Services reminds you of our new Web page address with detailed local-angle information about students listed by county or state who graduated or earned Deanís List honors in Spring 2002. See below for details on how to use the Web URL.

Local students earn UNC degrees; recognized on Deanís List

CHAPEL HILL -- More than 4,294 students earned bachelorís, masterís, doctoral or professional degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill during a May 19th ceremony, featuring remarks by U.S. Senator John Edwards.

In addition, more than 4,692 Carolina students were recognized for outstanding academic achievement by their selection for the 2002 spring semester Deanís List.

Students are eligible for the Deanís List if they earn at least a 3.2 grade-point-average on a 4.0 scale while taking 15 or more letter-grade credit hours. They are also eligible if they earn a 3.5 grade-point-average while taking at least 12 letter-grade credit hours. Students must have no grades lower than a "C". On a 4.0 scale, "A" equals 4, "B" equals 3 and "C" equals 2.

To search for those students in your circulation area:

Choose option 1. (Deanís List) or option 2. (Degree Recipients).

For the Semester/Year choose "Spring 2002".

For "ALL STUDENTS" choose "Select".

For "North Carolina County," select your county and from the "State" option, select North Carolina.

Choose an output type Ė HTML is default. Choose between HTML, MS Excel, or Adobe PDF formats.

Click "Submit" Ė the results will be displayed in a browser window.
