School of Law to host Senate candidate debate
Tuesday (April 9), 4 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.
Rotunda of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law will host a Senate candidate debate featuring the participation of Democratic candidates Dan Blue, Erskine Bowles, Cynthia Brown and Elaine Marshall.
The forum is sponsored by the Student Bar Associationís Leadership Series. Although most attendees likely will be law students and faculty, the community is invited to attend, as well.
School dean Gene Nichol will moderate. The forum will begin with brief introductions of each candidate, then opening statements of four minutes. A question-and-answer period will follow, beginning with questions submitted in advance by faculty or students and continuing with questions from the floor.
The event will close with three-minute statements from the candidates.
Special note to broadcasters, videographers and photographers: Space is limited in the rotunda, but an area will be reserved for photographers. Audio feeds also will be available. Broadcasters with special needs or heavy equipment should call broadcast manager Karen Moon (see contact information below) no later than Monday (April 8) afternoon to make special arrangements or to accommodate live shots.
