Media representatives are invited to cover "Fast Break Against Cancer," a fund-raiser for cancer research in the community that is being hosted by University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill men’s basketball head coach Roy Williams.

A designated seating area is available for members of the media. Williams will offer remarks at about 8:25 a.m. and answer questions about the event at 9 a.m. His remarks will offer reflection on last year’s national championship season and preview this year’s Tar Heel squad. He also will talk about why he wanted to host the event and why cancer research is important to him.

The event is co-sponsored by UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center and the American Cancer Society.

The "Fast Break" will kick off the day’s activities for "Late Night with Roy Williams." Williams, his assistant coaches and the "Voice of the Tar Heels," Woody Durham, all will be in attendance.

During the breakfast, Durham will auction off a few items from Williams’ personal collection. The items are: a team autographed basketball from the 2005 UNC National Championship Team; four tickets to a closed basketball practice; a bottle of champagne from UNC graduate and former NBA star Michael Jordan’s "2005 Flight School" camp autographed by Jordan, former UNC men’s basketball head coach Dean Smith and Williams; and an autographed pair of Nike running shoes that Williams wore at last year’s game against Clemson for the "Coaches Against Cancer" awareness program.

About 300 people are expected to attend the event.

Parking is available at the Manning lots on Skipper Bowles Drive. Enter the Smith Center through Entrance A.
