Media invited today to interview Oliver Smithies, co-winner of the 2007 Nobel Prize
Media representatives are invited to interview Oliver Smithies, Ph.D., co-recipient of this year’s Nobel Prize in physiology or medicine and Excellence professor of pathology and laboratory medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine. Smithies is the first full-time faculty member at UNC to win the Nobel.

Immediately following the 2 p.m. session with Smithies, media are also invited to attend a celebration with colleagues and University community members planned to begin at 2:30 p.m. in the Lineberger center’s atrium. UNC Chancellor James Moeser and Etta Pisano, vice dean of the School of Medicine and professor in the departments of radiology and biomedical engineering, are scheduled to speak.
Parking: Parking is available in the Dogwood parking deck, with entrances on East Drive and Mason Farm Road, off Manning Drive.
