UNC police seek public's
help in locating missing student

 

CHAPEL HILL -- University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill police are seeking the public's help in the search for a missing student.

 

Ziyun "Tim" Mao is described as an Asian male who is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 135 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. His left ear is pierced, and he often wears an earring in this ear.

 

Mao, 19, was last seen in his residence hall room at 11 a.m. May 4. Foul play is not suspected in his disappearance at this time, officials said.

 

Mao does not own or have access to a vehicle and most likely will be using public transportation or walking.

 

Anyone with information concerning his disappearance or location is urged to call the UNC Department of Public Safety at (919) 962-6565 or Crime Stoppers at (919) 942-7515. Callers are not required to give their names.
