CHAPEL HILL – An 18-year-old male was robbed at gunpoint near Carmichael Auditorium on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus at about 3 a.m. today (Nov. 1).
The incident occurred as the victim and a companion returned to the victim’s vehicle, which was parked on Carmichael Drive. The pair was confronted by two suspects, one of whom carried a gun and forced the victim to drive to an ATM on Raleigh Street and remove an undisclosed amount of cash. The two suspects are black males in their early 20s, and both were reportedly carrying revolvers. The first suspect was described as being light-skinned, approximately 6-foot tall, 160-170 pounds, and wearing a light brown Philadelphia Phillies jersey and a light brown Philadelphia Phillies baseball cap. The second suspect was described as being about 6-foot-1, weighing 160-170 pounds, wearing a white t-shirt and a New York Yankees baseball cap, and possibly having a rough complexion.
The suspects were last seen fleeing the area on foot headed east on South Road. They may be occupants of a dark blue or black Nissan Pathfinder.
