Advice on Career Tracks

There are three, basic career routes for BA level anthropology majors:

  • You have open to you all of the career options of any student with a B.A. in the liberal arts and social sciences, with the added advantage that you surely are more prepared than most in the growing international arena of business, government and NGOs. The resources and professional staff of the Careers Services Office are your guides here.
  • You can seek a career that puts your anthropology degree directly into practice. More on the option of "practicing anthropology" below.
  • Lastly, you can continue with graduate education in order to seek a career in education, be it as a social studies teacher in a middle school or a professor in a university. This option is also one for which we offer advice.
