Home: A New Organization

UNC-CH Project OpenHand is a new organization that seeks to provide for the nutritional needs of people living with HIV in and around the Chapel Hill area. Modeled after similar programs across the U.S., UNC-CH Project OpenHand provides basic nutritional education and home-delivered meals. We work to educate clients about their specific nutritional needs and provide them with meals and recipes to satisfy their dietary needs.

Services are provided free of cost to clients living in Orange, Chatham, and Alamance counties who are HIV-positive and demonstrate difficulty in meal preparation. Clients must be able to freeze and reheat food to receive home-delivered meals, but all are eligible for nutritional education. UNC-CH Project OpenHand has a strong commitment to client confidentiality. Those interested in receiving services should contact us by phone or e-mail.
