During Phase I at NC A&T, the number of doctoral students grew from 6 in 1999 (with three African Americans) to 21 in 2004 (with 12 African Americans).

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the following four items:

1. Getting more undergraduates into graduate school institutions and tracking them.

2. Joint/collaborative research efforts.

3. Professional development across the Alliance.

4. New and proposed grants.

It is important to attend this critical session to solidify our Alliance efforts and future of our URM students. Be prepared to discuss and provide input on each of the areas from your institution's point of view and personal knowledge.
