Sponsorship of the 2011
NC Alliance to Create Opportunity through Education (NC OPT-ED)
Alliance Day Conference

Your company/organization is cordially invited to be a sponsor to the NC OPT-ED Tenth Annual Alliance Day Conference on Friday, October 14, 2011.  Sponsorships are essential in providing free student registration to include meals, student travel, printing and administrative costs of the conference.  We need your support and invite your participation.

What is NC OPT-ED?
NC OPT-ED is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to increase the number of domestic students receiving advanced degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), with special emphasis on those population groups underrepresented in these fields (i.e., African Americans, Hispanics, American Indians, Native Hawaiians or other Pacific Islanders).  The conference promotes STEM education from secondary schools through graduate education to the professoriate and/or industry.

Alliance Day 2011:
This year’s conference will be held Friday, October 14, 2011, on the campus of the North Carolina State University at the McKimmon Conference Center, Raleigh, NC.   It is the only conference in the United States where middle schools through graduate school students are in attendance.  Seven to eight hundred students are expected to attend the 2011 Alliance Day Conference. The Alliance Day program will provide hands-on STEM activities, informative workshops and opportunities for students to present their research.  In addition, undergraduate and graduate school representatives will be present to answer student questions and provide information regarding attendance at their institutions.
