Welcome to the North Carolina OPT-ED Alliance
The North Carolina
Alliance to Create Opportunity Through Education (NC OPT-ED) involves statewide
institutions that are committed to diversifying the science,
mathematics, technology and engineering workforce, including the
professorate. The formal alliance with other National Science
Foundation (NSF)-supported programs at institutions in North Carolina
seeks to encourage underrepresented minority students from middle
school through graduate school to attain the doctorate.
"Knowledge
is the key that unlocks all the doors. It doesn't matter what you look
like or where you come from if you have knowledge."
