Alliances for Graduate Education in the Professoriate Program (AGEP)
The AGEP program is intended to significantly increase the number of domestic students receiving doctorates in sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), with special emphasis on those population groups underrepresented in these fields (i.e., African Americans, Hispanics, American Indians, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, and other Pacific Islanders). In addition, AGEP is particularly interested in increasing the number of minorities who will enter the professoriate in these disciplines.
Center of Research Excellence in Science and Technology (CREST)
The CREST program makes resources available to significantly enhance the research capabilities of minority-serving institutions through the establishment of centers that effectively integrate education and research. CREST promotes the development of new knowledge, enhancements of the research productivity of individual faculty, and stimulates greater diversity in student presence in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines.
