Atlantic Coast Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences (AC-SBE) Alliance

The Atlantic Coast Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences (AC-SBE) Alliance is a formal network among The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Howard University, the University of Florida, the University of Maryland at College Park, and the University of Miami. Each institution has been awarded a grant of up to $300,000 from the National Science Foundation.

During each summer, the SPGRE program offers undergraduate students throughout the country the opportunity to work on research projects under the direction for UNC-CH faculty members. This 10-week research education program is designed for students sincerely interested in pursuing graduate studies for the doctorate. Students will receive a stipend, food allowance and housing for the summer.

Research Education Support (RES) Program

The Research Education Support (RES) Program seeks to encourage more UNC-CH minority undergraduate students to consider doctoral degrees and research and academic careers by providing them with support to engage in research under the direction of UNC-CH faculty members. Undergraduates will receive financial support during the academic year.
