Students are encouraged to apply to Western Michigan University's National Science Foundation Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Program. Participants in the 10 week summer program will gain first-hand research experience by working with a mentor in the area of environmental signal transduction. Additionally, the participants will engage in a series of presentations and discussions on career choices, the process of science and scientific ethics and integrity. Seminars and social gatherings are also planned.
