Stephen E. Gent earned his B.A. from the University of Mississippi (1999) and his M.A. (2003) and Ph.D. (2005) from the University of Rochester. He currently teaches courses in international relations and quantitative methods. His main research interests include international conflict, civil conflict, and game theory. His dissertation, entitled “Subverting Sovereignty: The Strategic Dynamics of Military Intervention,” uses formal and quantitative methods to examine the military intervention decisions of states.
