.information.Chapel Hill.dining.Franklin Street strip
Franklin Street, the main drag through the college area of Chapel Hill, is jampacked with one million fine dining establishments ready with hot vittles to feed your need for nourishment. Franklin St. is found quite easily by going due north from any point on the main Carolina campus.
Most dining establishments are found in the blocks between Henderson St. and Church St. Highlights include:
- the Carolina Coffee Shop, 138 E Franklin
- Bandido's Mexican Cafe, 159 + 1/2 E Franklin, and if you don't eat El Gigante you're a pansy times one million. It's underground!
- The Rathskeller, 157 + 1/2 E Franklin has been in business for one million years and is terrible for your health. A wonderful Chapel Hill tradition.
- Burrito Bunker, 161 + 1/2 E Franklin -- walk through the underground passage, past Bandido's and
the Rath, and keep going until you think you're going to find nothing but a parking deck. Turn right, enter building, say "hi!" eat delicious/cheap burrito + cold PBR.
- Linda's Bar and Grill. 203 E Franklin
- Franklin St. Pizza and Pasta, 163 E Franklin
