: : KEEPING RESIDENTS AS THE TOP PRIORITY
  • Evaluate and seek opinions about new bus route(s) and P2P express route meant to accommodate Odum Village resident.
  • Create a better relationship with DPS on students' behalves
    • Work to decrease the amount of accrued parking fines by informing students of parking restrictions - (i.e. game days, special reserve ties, make sure students are aware of times cars should be removed)
  • Continue to accommodate students who live in residence halls and smoke
    • Seek constant feedback on what can be done better.
  • Get residents informed about RHA and what we can do.
    • Info sessions at the beginning of each semester/membership drives
    • Co-sponsor an event or events for Week of Welcome w/ Office of New Student Programs
    • Pre-O presence at the organization fair
    • Short monthly surveys soliciting resident feedback
    • Improve relations with graduate students who live on campus
    • RHA monthly newsletter that highlights the month's events and hot topics

 

: : COLLABORATION

  • Work with other student organizations to co-sponsor events and programs (CAA, BSM, Masala, ASA, Chipsa, GLBTSA,UNC- NAACP etc.)
  • Maintain relationships with Department of Housing and Residential Education
    • Meeting with the DHRE director (Larry Hicks effective March 1, 2005)
    • Info sessions on programming and proposals for RAs
    • Work to get housing- related construction tours for executive board members and interested governors
  • Maintain relationships with Department of Public Safety
  • Maintain relationships with Carolina Dining Services

 

: : GIVING BACK

  • Work with other organizations to formulate service projects
  • Executive Board (req'd) Governors and interested residents, 1 service project each semester.
  • Make our services and/or funds available for Race Relations Week, MLK week, and other awareness weeks or events that occur on campus: Relay for Life, Dance Marathon etc.


: : MAINTENANCE OF RHA - "There's no need to fix what's not broken."

  • Fill executive board with qualified applicants
  • Monitor performance of exec board to ensure smooth transitions
  • See that all government/governor positions are filled
  • Provide exec members and governors with the opportunity to participate in Safe Zone training.
  • See that Morrison South works smoothly with Craige community.
  • Make sure that Odum Village has sufficient representation
  • Remain affiliated on the state, regional, and national level and continue to attend all conferences.
