Projects for the Day For Service Check out the great and exciting projects that are part of this years program. The service day is scheduled from 8:30am-2:30pm with lunch and transportation provided. Please email DJ Duncan if you have any questions.
- Botanical Gardens
- A group of able-bodied, energetic people will help remove invasive exotic plants from the Coker Pinetum (a natural area on campus along Meeting of the Waters Creek). This will involve pulling and cutting vines (such as wisteria, oriental bittersweet, and english ivy), and cutting shrubbery (privet, mimosa, etc.). These exotic plants are out-competing our native plants and destroying habitat for native plants and wildlife. They also make the area less pleasurable for students and staff to visit.

- Volunteers will interact with local residents.
- Available Space: 30
- Downtown Chapel Hill Clean Up
- Volunteers will work together to help clean up Downtown Chapel Hill. They will assist in removing graffiti, cleaning street benches,removing flyers from kiosks, etc.
- Some volunteers will also engage in a creative project.

- Project HomeStart
- Volunteers will be involved with 1 on 1 visitation with residents and serving lunches.

- Horace Mann Preservation Society
- Volunteers will be involved with landscaping activities and the overall beautiication of the campus.

- Orange County Crisis Rape Center
- Volunteers will assist with food drive and packaging food.

- Ronald McDonald House
- Volunteers will help with cleanup and landscaping for this local nonprofit organization. Weather permitting, this may involve outdoors work.

- The ReCYCLEry
- Volunteers are taught bicycle repair and maintenance skills

Triangle United Way
