Special Acknowledgements for the Day for Service.
The Day for Service was first organized by the Carolina Center for
Public Service for the 2001 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration at
UNC-Chapel Hill. In its second year, the Campus Y and Sonja Haynes
Stone Black Cultural Center took the lead in organizing the program and
built off of the success of its first year.
Entering its ninth year, the Day for Service Planning Committee
has set the goal of mobilizing UNC students to complete service
projects throughout
the Chapel Hill community on the Dr. King Holiday. Visit the
rest of the site and learn more about our program and register
to volunteer or to have
a project site!
