About the SECC

Carolina Cares: Giving for a Brighter Tomorrow is the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s 2007 State Employees Combined Campaign (SECC).

The SECC is the only charitable giving program authorized for the state employee workplace. The purpose of the SECC is to allow state employees the opportunity to contribute to charitable organizations in an orderly and uniform process.

You can participate in this year’s campaign by learning more about participating charitable organizations, learning how to give or attending a campaign event.

Participating charities

Hundreds of charities are particpating in this year's campaign. A list of all the participating organizations is maintaned on the state SECC website.

A charity must meet strict criteria to become a SECC agency. All SECC charities are screened and have a proven track record. State employees carefully review and monitor organizations funded by state employee gifts to assure fiscal and professional integrity.
