Every dollar contributed enhances the opportunities for higher education for deserving Latino scholars in North Carolina.
The Scholars' Latino Initiative makes higher education more accessible to intelligent, determined Latino students. This group one of the most under-represented minorities in North Carolina colleges and universities.
Your support will enable our scholars to creatively confront the demographic and economic challenges of the future. Through the SLI program, our students gain the necessary academic and personal skills to matriculate and succeed in college. Donating to SLI will open doors for promising Latino students, giving them a platform for continued success.
SLI's Awards Committee, which includes educators, admissions officers, and community leaders, annually awards scholarships to Latino students graduating from high school and planning to attend a college or university in North Carolina. These students have demonstrated financial need and have also completed SLI's three-year program or a comparable mentoring program that includes skills development, cultural enrichment, and public service. The Awards Committee also reviews the progress of recipients and renews or revises scholarship offers accordingly.
Through a college education, your support will enable our scholars to creatively confront the demographic and economic challenges ahead for both North Carolina and the nation.
