Campus E-mail and Onyen Assignment

Standardized E-mail Addresses

Information Technology Services (ITS) will make available an official University e-mail address to all faculty, staff and students. This will be provisioned to faculty and staff upon hire and to students upon matriculation[1]. The e-mail form will be onyen@email.unc.edu.

Alias

Each faculty, staff and student may choose to publish an alias, alias@unc.edu, in the directory. The alias will resolve to an onyen@email.unc.edu account.

[1] The Vice Provost for Enrollment Management is responsible for determining the operational definition of matriculation as it applies to the implementation of this policy.
