Space Week at Carolina


In recognition World Space Week, SpaceTalk is holding a number of events to celebrate space exploration. These include:

Mars or Bust
October 7th, 9th, and 11th
Check out the SpaceTalk table in The Pit on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday during Space Week. Posters, pamphlets, petitions, and a documentary on campus opinion of space exploration all featured. Hordes of stylish (and free!) button pins will be given away.

Plants, Agriculture and Space
Wednesday, October 9th at 7:30pm, room 215 Phillips at UNC-CH
A space biology lecture by guest speaker Dr. Chris Brown. Chris is a plant biologist who specializes in gravitational biology. He is also the Director of Space Programs at the Kenan Institute for Engineering, Technology & Science at North Carolina State University. To learn more about Dr. Brown, check out this article. Lecture is free and open to the public.

Morehead Observatory Viewing Night
Sunday, October 13th at 9pm, Morehead Planetarium Observatory
Star gaze with Carolina’s observatory telescopes at the Morehead Planetarium. Limited capacity so arrive on time!
