Day in the life | Spin instructor
Carolina senior and environmental science major Andrea Orengo clocks a couple hundred hours on the spin bike each year, but it wasn’t always that way.
“The first time I got on the bike, I almost passed out because I didn’t eat breakfast beforehand and I didn’t realize it was such a hard workout,” Orengo said.
Before long, she fell in love with the adaptability of spin and never turned back. Now, as a spin instructor at Carolina’s Student Recreation Center, she motivates others through hills, jumps and sprints on stationary bikes during two weekly cycle classes.
Orengo is just one Carolina student doing incredible things. Learn more about how she juggles life as a student with time on the bike.
