But through the work of centers like UNC-Chapel Hill’s Matthew Gfeller Sport-Related Traumatic Brain Injury Research Center, researchers are learning how to better manage the injury and protect the athletes.

With fall sports gearing up in the coming weeks, we talk about concussions and managing them with Johna Register-Mihalik, an assistant professor of exercise and sports science with the Matthew Gfeller Sport-Related Traumatic Brain Injury Research Center and the Injury Prevention Research Center.
