U.S. Department of Education's EDFacts initiative centralizes performance data supplied by K-12 state education agencies with other data assets, such as financial grant information. - Title I, No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act
About half the schools and all school districts in North Carolina receive Title I funding. - Study on the Admission of Undocumented Students into the North Carolina Community College System. NCCCS, 2009.
In 2008, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security issued a statement affirming that it is up to each state to determine whether to admit undocumented students. On August 15, 2008, the NCCCS State Board maintained the restrictions on the admission of undocumented students to North Carolina community colleges. Under current NCCCS policy, undocumented students may only be admitted if they fall in one of three narrow categories.

Under the provisions of the DREAM (Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors) Act, undocumented young people could be eligible for a conditional path to citizenship in exchange for a mandatory two years in higher education or military service.

In the 1980's, over 200,000 Latino and Asian immigrants came to Atlanta and north Georgia. Describes their difficulties and also their successes in establishing themselves in a different culture.

Documents the story of Mexican farm worker on a farm in North Carolina who entered the United States legally as part of the H-2A guest worker program, and looks at the issues surrounding the program. Available on DVD in UNC Libraries Media Resources Center.

The project addresses ISA's mission to expand the conceptual scope of Latin American studies to include the diasporic dimensions of Latin American peoples, with attention to the expanding Latin American presence in the United States and with a special focus on North Carolina. - Coalition for College Access
