Dr. Johnson is a Professor in the School of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is the Creator and Director of the Black Experience Workshop which sponsors an annual conference. This report was prepared for the 1999 conference held at Chapel Hill on March 18 and 19.
