"Un-easy Conversations About Being Black and Gay: Does Homosexuality Still Remain the Biggest Taboo in the Black Community"
We hope to have a representative from the LGBTQ office to be a reference for the discussion, as well as an openly gay student and any other individuals that may have information on homosexuality in the black community.
Possible questions that may be
asked during the forum include:
-Is there an existing place to be gay in the Black community?
-BSM member views on gay marriage and adoption
-Societal views of gays vs. lesbians
-Interracial relationships in the gay community
-Positive gay figures in the media
-Why are black males so homophobic?
-Similarities and differences between the Civil Rights Movement and the movement
for Gay rights
