Over 140 N.C. congregations, local governments, and organizations have passed moratorium resolutions.

Tommy Adams: Despite deep remorse for his crime and his juvenile status, Thomas Adams landed on death row.  He was 17 at the time of the murder.

Timothy Lanier Allen: Execution stayed March 26, 1999.  Timothy Allen was convicted of killing a Highway Patrol officer in 1985 in Halifax county.

Robert Bacon:
Convicted of the 1987 murder of a Marine staff sergeant.  His accomplice, the victim's estranged wife, got life, Bacon got death.

Tilmon and Kevin Golphin:
The brothers were convicted of killing 2 officers.

Bobby Lee Harris: Harris received the death penalty though it was not clear he intended to kill his victim, who was also his boss.

William Jones:
Despite a previously clean record, evidence of drug addiction, and his admission of guilt, Jones was sentenced to death for a 1986 murder.

Timmy Keel: Execution stayed, September 29,1999.  Joseph Timothy Keel was convicted of the 1990 murder of his father-in-law.  He is borderline mentally retarded.

Elias Syriani:
Syriani, an Arab-American, was sentenced to die in 1991 for the murder of his wife.

David Junior Ward: Execution stayed on June 27, 1999.  Ward's accomplice, who planned and participated in the murder/robbery, got life.
