CESA members with Jane Goodall at UNC-CH Roots and Shoots Celebration.

CESA's Mission is to provide a meeting ground for the campus and community to unite in connecting different disciplines of thought, study and action through the common goal of environmental awareness.
CESA is sponsored by the Carolina Environmental Program and is open to all students and community members with an interest in the environment.
CESA is an interdisciplinary organization. Participation is open to any student in any major, including both undergraduate and graduate students. We are dedicated to uniting the environmental interests of students in the College of Arts and Sciences and the Schools of Medicine, Law, Public Health, Business, Education, Journalism and Mass Communication, etc. This broad scope of membership has been chosen deliberately since the solution to environmental problems lies in the effective integration of the perspectives, skills and goals of the full range of institutions in society. We also interact regularly with organizations outside the university which play a role in environmental problems and their solution.
