Getting Involved

Getting involved with UNC Pauper Players is easier than you may think. Opportunities are outlined below. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email us pauperinfo@gmail.com!

Performance Opportunities - Pauper Players produces two full-scale musical theater productions per year as well as a musical review in the spring. Anyone is welcome to audition for our shows (we do not limit membership to only UNC-CH students!) Specific audition information can be found in the Upcoming Projects section of our site.

Directing Opportunities - Anyone interested in directing should present a proposal to the administrative board. Calls for proposals will be posted on the Upcoming Projects page as they are required. Anyone can propose to direct a Pauper Players Production!

Technical Opportunities - Anyone interested in working behind the scenes of a Pauper Players Production should contact the tech liasion. We are always searching for individuals interested in lighting design, costume design, sound design, set design, set construction, make-up design, and running crew. NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY!

Administrative Opportunities - Each Spring we actively recruit individuals who are intereted in serving on our executive board. Positions include publicity, treasurer, box office manager, technical liasion, orchestral director, graphic designer, business manager, secretary and historian. If you have any questions concerning the duties assigned to any of these jobs, please contact the current eBoard member in that position. A list can be found on our Staff Page.

Email Updates - Pauper Players has a listserv set-up that is used to advertise upcoming productions, auditions, calls for proposals, and staff vacancies. If you would like to be added to this list please fill out this form and we would be glad to add you to the list. Please be advised that the list is only used a few times each semester to advertise important events.
