Ray Dooley

Professor Dooley brings more than 30 years of professional acting experience to the classroom and to the stage at UNC's professional theatre PlayMakers Repertory Company. Highlights from his career include a Village Voice OBIE Award for Distinguished Performance in Henrik Ibsen's Peer Gynt in New York City, and playing Father Flynn in the European premiere of the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning play Doubt at Vienna's English Theatre.
At UNC Chapel Hill Professor Dooley teaches graduate and undergraduate acting and dramatic literature. He served as Chairman of the Department of Dramatic Art from 1999 to 2005 and currently is Head of the Professional Actor Training Program.
