UNC-CH Swim Club Constitution Adopted September 2003 Article I: Name: UNC-CH Swim Club Article II: Purpose: UNC-CH Swim Club provides an environment promoting healthy body and mind in which participants can maintain a desired level of competition while building relationships with others of similar interests. Article III: Membership A. Our membership is open to all registered UNC-CH students, graduate and undergraduate. B. A full member must pay $20 dues, turn in a release form, and actively participate. C. A full member has the right to participate in all club functions. Article IV: Meeting A. Practices are held five days a week. There is no minimum attendance requirement. B. Other events, including swim meets and social functions, are broadcast over the listserv. Events are not required. Article V: Executive Board A. The president will contact other schools to arrange meets and work with the faculty advisor to arrange pool times. The treasurer will handle all financial affairs for the club. The secretary will handle the listserv and publicity statements. The vice-president will assist with scheduling and logistics as well as order team apparel. B. If an officer is not available, another officer will fill in. Article VI: Elections Elections are held at the end of fall semester. The newly elected officers begin serving their terms at the beginning of spring semester. The term lasts for one year. Article VII: Funds Our funds are secured by the Student Activity Fund Office. They are allocated for team events such as swim meets, social functions and equipment. Article VIII: Advisor Our advisor must be a faculty or staff member at UNC-CH. Article IX: Ratification The executive board will allow voting through email on any amendments proposed.
