The Walter Royal Davis Library is the central library for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Encompassing over 400,000 square feet - the size of several football fields - and providing seating for over 2,000 users plus carrels for an additional 1,000 readers, Davis is the largest and most comprehensive library on campus and a major research facility of national standing. Its holdings include more than 2,500,000 volumes and 2,000,000 printed government documents, over 3,000,000 microforms, and thousands of electronic titles.
