
UNC-BEST Burroughs Wellcome Fund Scholars receive an annual scholarship of $6,500 during their junior and senior years. Additionally, the scholars who go on to teach in N.C. public schools will receive extra support as they transition into their own classrooms as the scholars who teach in a North Carolina public high school are also eligible for a $5,000 annual salary supplement for up to five years. Students can choose to apply for the scholarships when applying to the UNC-BEST program.
The Physics Teacher Education Coalition (PhysTEC) is offering Noyce scholarships of up to $15,000 per year for up to two years. Scholarships are available to junior and senior physics majors who plan to become physics teachers. For more information, see <http://www.phystec.org/noyce/index.php>. The application deadline for 2009 scholarships is February 27, 2009.
