Quail Roost Farm

The UNC Equestrian Team practices at Quail Roost Farm in Rougemont, North Carolina, the same barn where the UNC PE riding class is held. The property is absolutely beautiful and is a very nice place to just go out and enjoy a ride. The team practices in a very large lighted outdoor ring which allows the team to practice during a large part of the day.

History

Quail Roost Farm is quite old, approaching 150 years in age.

In 1875, a group of Durham's leading business and professional men formed the Quail Roost Hunting Lodge. They acquired 834 acres which became, in time, today's Quail Roost Farm. The Club obtained the right to hunt quail, dove and turkey over thousands of adjoining acres.
