    The Farm is working hard to offer you, our members, a well rounded comprehensive fitness program that you can take advange of and enjoy all year long!     Individualized Programs

    Free Training Room Orientations (by appointment)

    Not sure how to use the equipment in the training room and/or you’d like to start up/beef up an exercise plan? Please contact Becky for a free orientation to the training room and she will set you up with an individualized program.

    Personal Training (Individualized or small group/family sessions available)

    Senior Fitness Testing

    Location: Farm Training Room
    Cost: $50/hour
    Senior Fitess Tester: Becky Woodruff
    Senior Fitness Test for adults 55+ years of age. This is a Nationally Standardized test that compares you to others your age and gender in the areas of upper & lower body strength, upper & lower body flexibility, balance & agility, endurance, and body mass. It’s a great way to see how you compare to others your age and also identify areas of strength and areas of concern. Becky will also provide recommendations and exercise prescription based upon the results of your Senior Fitness Test.

    Farm Individual Nutrition Counseling
    Time/Days: variable to meet your needs
    Location: Farm clubhouse
    Cost: $25/half hour; $50/hour

    Nutruitionist: Susan Lutz
    Program Description: Susan Lutz is a registered dietitian who has counseled adults, adolescents and children on a variety of nutrition-related topics.  Susan will be offering individual nutrition counseling to interested Farm members by appointment. Susan works for Essential Nutrition and Wellness, LLC in Chapel Hill, a private nutrition and wellness practice.  Please email Susan at sixlutz@gmail.com to determine the most cost-effective method for meeting your nutrition needs.     Free Farm Nutrition & Fitness Challenge

    Challenge Leaders: Becky Woodruff & Susan Lutz
    Program Description 
    Farm Fitness Director, Becky Binney & Farm Registered Dietician, Susan Lutz want to help you feel more fit. We will offer you a free fitness room orientation and a nutritional consult to get you started on your weight loss program and journey to better health. During your two visits, you will set your own nutrition and fitness goals.   Becky and Susan only require a weekly update and weigh in (we can do more if you like).     Farm Water Conditioning & Aerobics
    Tuesdays & Thursdays 5:30-6:30pm
    Starts Tuesday, June 2nd – Thursday, August 13th.

    Program Description: Water Conditioning & Aerobics is a great work out and helps to build overall cardio & body strength without taxing the joints.Prior Sign up is preferred (see attached application form) however, not required, just come get a refreshing after work workout.  Classes will meet in the lower pool.


    Tai Chi With James Sutton (see bios)
    : Mondays
    6:30-7:30 pm
    Clubhouse or under the shelter on warm days
    Program Description: Tai Chi is a martial art and exercise for overall well-being and conditioning incorporating dynamic movement that improves energy flow throughout the body. Tai Chi helps to ease tension, enhance awareness, and improve balance and strength. This class will focus on the Chen style and various Qi (energy) enhancing exercises. Please wear comfortable clothing, athletic/ soft soled shoes.

    Pop Up Cardio Workout with Katie Corley! (see bios)
    Time: 8:30am-9:30am
    Location:  Clubhouse
    Program Description: PopUp Workout is an hour long, full body workout that incorporates cardio, toning, and strengthening and flexibility exercises. Light hand weights, stretch bands, balls and gliders are used to work all muscle groups and keep the program challenging. It is an intense workout and you can expect to burn 400-600 calories per class, build long lean muscles, and keep your metabolism revving (bring your own water and a mat, $10 per class) 

    PopUp Pilates (morning) with Lauren
    Days/ Time: Tuesdays 10:00 -11:00am 
    Location:  Clubhouse
    This Class is an hour long mat based Pilates class. Practiced faithfully, Pilates yields numerous benefits such as increased lung capacity, improved strength and flexibility - particularly of the back and abdomen muscles, and improved coordination - both muscular and mental. Come experience the core understanding of Pilates and its benefits! 

    Yoga with Gillian (see bio)
    Wednesdays  & Fridays 10:00-11:00am, and Saturdays 10:00-11:15am
    Farm Yoga Room
    Program Description: The Farm has a professionally trained Yoga Instructor who teaches all levels from beginner to advanced forms of yoga. Gillian’s teaching stems from a classical Yoga background and is strongly influenced by Iyengar. Gillian uses props, such as belts, blocks, and straps as aids to help participants into asanas (poses) one step at a time. Focus is on structural alignment, development of strength, stamina, flexibility, balance and concentration (Dharana).     Therapeutic Massage with Daniel (by appointment)
    Daniel specializes in Therapeutic Massage, specifically the Active Release Technique (ART). ART is a patented state of the art soft tissue system/movement based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with ART.     Summer Teen & Adult Clinics

    Level 1 Teens N Training Clinics with Sam
    (see bio)
    Day/Time: Thursdays 6pm
    Clinic Description: Teens ages 11- 18 years of age who  may or may not be involved in other fitness related activities or sports. Focus is on overall body conditioning through a “boot camp/circuit training” style workout, weight management if desired. The clinics are individualized to meet needs of participants.

    Level 2 Sports Conditioning Clinics with Sam
    Day/Time: Mondays 6pm
    Clinic Description Teens ages 11-14 who are involved in athletics/sports and are interested in a more intensive cross training to improve their strength/cardio vascular endurance for specific sports and/or activities.


    Level 2 Tennis Conditioning Clinics with Sam

    Clinic Description: Teens 15-18 who are interested in cross training to improve

    their strength, power, agility, flexibility specifically for tennis
