GENERAL TENNIS INFORMATION

COMMON SENSE RULES

Only tennis shoes are allowed on the courts. NO CROSS TRAINERS, RUNNING SHOES, BLACK SOLED SHOES, STREET SHOES. No racquet abuse is allowed on the courts. This could damage court surface. NO PROFANITY, UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT OR EXCESSIVE NOISE. Only those playing tennis should be on the courts. Proper tennis attire is required - a shirt must be worn at all times. Please go to the court assigned to you. If someone is on your court please ask them to check the board in the office lobby. Do not walk behind players in the middle of a point. When entering or leaving the courts, wait until the point is over to exit. Return balls promptly to the proper court, but not during a point.


SOFT COURT LIGHTS

The front six courts are lighted and can be enjoyed after dark. The ON SWITCHES (red for courts 1, 2, and 3; green for courts 4, 5, and 6) are located on the outside fence of court one, closest to the parking lot. There is no off switch. The staff will turn the lights off or the automatic timer will cut off the lights. Winter play ends at 9 p.m. Fall/Spring/Summer play ends at 10:00 p.m. NO EXCEPTIONS AS THE MAINTENANCE STAFF WILL BE READY TO GET ON THE COURTS AT THAT TIME. Play within three courts whenever possible to conserve energy. Hard court lights go off at 10 p.m. Enjoy!!


SPECIAL TENNIS EVENTS

Our tennis calendar includes seasonal holiday mixers, frequent Friday evening adult doubles play, Spring and Fall Club Championships, demo days, and the annual relining of the soft courts by the membership.


We will hold our second annual Raise a Racquet Fundraiser on October 10th, 2014 to benefit the NC Children's Hospital. This is an all day event that includes tennis for adults in the morning, a lunch, and tennis for the kids in the late afternoon followed by a pizza party.
