The UNC Video Conferencing Users Group is an amalgam of UNC staff, faculty, and students who are actively involved in the day to day use and or support of video conferencing.

Video Conferencing Experiences Needed

• Video Networking is documenting the video conferencing experiences of UNC faculty, staff, and students. We would love to hear what you are doing. Experiences will be regularly highlighted on the Video Networking web site.

VCON vPoint Install Instructions

• We have been noting very positive experiences with the vPoint soft endpoints (about $145). We now have detailed instructions on installing vPoint available at: http://www.unc.edu/video/imc/vpoint_install.html . vPoint software is available from http://www.buyvcon.com . Look for an H.264 version of vPoint some time this spring.

H.320 (ISDN)

• A new page is available detailing options currently available to those who need to video conference with H.320 (ISDN) endpoints. Please visit: http://www.unc.edu/video/imc/h320.html

Via Video Update

• Polycom ViaVideo 5.1 software is available. It seems to have addressed most of the bugs present in 5.0. Also some improvements in the user interface.One of the more significant features is the ability to conference at data rates of up to 512 Kbps using your existing ViaVideo hardware. The software can be freely downloaded from Polycom Support (select 'Software Downloads').
