World Water Quality Day
October 18

Be part of World Water Monitoring Day this year! People interested in helping to monitor the quality of local streams, rivers, lakes, ponds, and other water resources are needed anytime between Sept. 18 and Oct. 18.

This is a great way to learn how monitoring helps to protect our waters No experience is needed. Four simple tests are basic indicators of the water's health. Learn how to sample for dissolved oxygen (DO), acidity (pH), temperature and turbidity and what each of these mean to the water's quality! Results are entered into an international database so everyone can access them.

The goal of this annual worldwide educational event is to create a network of individuals from around the world; people from all ages, backgrounds, faiths, creeds and ethnicities that are willing to invest in the protection of their community's waterways.

If you are interested in participating in World Water Monitoring Day , visit www.worldwatermonitoringday.org to learn more.
