Text Box: A two-week festival of folk music, culture and dance from around the world.

Join thousands for this outstanding international festival held annually in Western North Carolina . Featured will be almost a dozen international folk groups entertaining the crowd with lively dance and beautiful music. This year's performers will come from across the globe including Colombia , India , Israel , Italy , Jordan , Mexico , Moldova , Mongolia , Peru , Poland , Spain , Togo , Turkey , Taiwan , and Canada .

Folkmoot USA is the official international festival for the State of North Carolina and 2004 marks the 21 st Anniversary. Folkmoot, a word derived from Old-English meaning “meeting of the people”, promotes world friendship and celebrates cultural heritage. Last year's performers came from the Buryat Republic , Chile , Costa Rica , France , Mexico , Norway , Russia , Italy , Tahiti , and Hawaii . For over twelve years Folkmoot has been named a “Top 20 Event in the Southeast” by the Southern Tourism Society, and is included in the list of “Top 100 Events in America ” by the American Bus Association.

Ticket prices vary for each event. Many events are free.
