World View, in collaboration with UNC’s Center for Global Initiatives, is providing small grants to community college educators to help them ”internationalize” their courses.
Nineteen grants have been recently awarded to North Carolina community college instructors to date, and World View is now accepting proposals for fall 2008 grants. Proposal deadline is October 15, 2008, and awards will be announced by November 1st. Please mail to the address on the proposal cover sheet or email them to Neil Bolick at nebolick@unc.edu.
This grant program is funded by UNC’s Center for Global Initiatives (CGI) and organized by World View. Each grantee receives $750 to compensate for time spent and to offset costs for the trip to UNC-Chapel Hill for the research. At UNC they will spend a day working with appropriate librarians and faculty arranged by World View.
Our intention is to support the addition of international content to existing courses that have little or no such content. Preference will be given to proposals that develop regularly taught and/or required courses, and courses that affect large numbers of students.
