ONLINE COURSES

Online Globalization Course
http://www.unc.edu/world/OnlineCourses/Online_Course_Summaries.shtml
For the past two years, World View has offered an online course on globalization. This six-week course, offered to K-12 teachers, administrators, and community college faculty, immerses educators an intensive exploration of rapid global changes. It discusses global issues in government, economics, culture, technology, environment and health, and is an
online version of World View's week-long on-campus “Global Education Leaders' Program.” Participants will read, discuss, and reflect on the most important issues facing America and the world today. The course will introduce educators to university and other resources to help them to continue learning about global issues. As a final project, each participant will present an Action Plan for their classroom, school, school system, or college to support the development of globally competitive graduates. Four CEU credits will be offered.

The American Meteorological Society
http://www.ametsoc.org/
The American Meteorological Society offers courses for pre-college teachers (DataStreme Atmosphere, DataStreme Ocean). They are supported by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and the main goal is the training of Weather Education Resource Teachers who will promote the teaching of science, mathematics and technology using weather as a vehicle, across the K-12 curriculum in their home school districts. Check out the web site for details about the courses.
